For the first time, Slow Fiber participated as a sustaining sponsor in the fourth edition of One Ocean Week, the Milanese event dedicated to the protection of marine ecosystems and the development of a regenerative and sustainable Blue Economy, held from 22 to 25 May 2025 in Milan.

The event’s rich program – including debates, round tables and informative meetings – addressed crucial issues for the future of the planet: from the role of women in the ecological transition to the need for a shared methodology for measuring blue carbon in the Mediterranean, to the virtuous models of startups and small businesses committed to change.

Slow Fiber was cited among these virtuous examples: an association born from the meeting between the Slow Food movement and a group of Italian companies in the textile supply chain, united by the belief that it is possible to do business following ethical, transparent and long lasting principles and values. An alliance that demonstrates how textiles can also become a driver of environmental and social regeneration.

At the inaugural press conference, held on May 7 in Milan, Dario Casalini, creator and president of Slow Fiber, spoke, bringing the voice of responsible textiles and underlining the importance of building bridges between worlds that are only apparently distant – such as that of the sea and that of fiber – but profoundly interconnected.

Slow Fiber is proud to be part of this revolution.

Bringing the sea to the heart of Milan is a symbolic and powerful gesture, which reminds us how important it is to know in order to protect. Every conscious choice – even that of a dress or a furnishing fabric for our home – is a concrete gesture for the protection of our planet, of green and blue.
