On May 7, on the
stage of the opening conference of the ninth edition of the Sustainable
Development Festival promoted by ASviS - Italian Alliance for Sustainable
Development - in Milan, Dario Casalini, creator and president of Slow Fiber,
spoke about the possible horizon of a more ethical and sustainable textile
supply chain.
During his speech, Casalini offered a simple but powerful reflection: «We pay attention to what we eat, three times a day, but we don’t always stop to think about what we wear, which accompanies us all the day long, 24 hours».
An invitation to consider with awareness also what comes into contact with our body through clothes, sheets, sofas – in short, everything that is fabric.
Slow Fiber was
born from this awareness: it is an association that brings together textile
companies that operate in compliance with the principles that Slow Food applies
to food – good, healthy, clean, fair – to which they add lasting value, and
that believe in a production model in harmony with people and the planet.
Casalini’s speech brought to the stage a concrete model of doing business differently, focusing on ethics, sustainability and quality.
An important testimony in a context, that of the Festival, which every year attracts authoritative voices to promote and create a more equitable and sustainable future.
